Perfect vision into the future may not be possible, but we can’t afford to let the future happen to us. The ability to see, shape, and share the future has never been more important. Futures thinking is a set of strategic practices and ways of looking at the world that help us navigate a rapidly changing world filled with more questions than answers; more unknowns than knowns; and more ambiguity than certainty. In just over an hour, we’ll cover the characteristics of Futures Thinking and core principles that all futurists use. With terms defined and tools laid out, we’ll learn to imagine multiple futures, embrace contextual intelligence and strengthen our skills of strategic foresight. We’ll also cover backcasting, predictable obstacles, and how we can best share the future we want to bring to life. We can’t create what we can’t imagine.
